HopeLink – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I schedule a Medicaid ride with HopeLink?

Call 1-800-923-7433 (King County) or 1-855-766-7433 (Snohomish County), Monday–Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. You can also use HopeLink’s online request form. Be prepared to share your Medicaid ID and appointment details.

Q: Can I request MedStar as my transportation provider?

No. HopeLink assigns rides based on location, availability, and medical need. MedStar is a trusted provider in their network and may be selected automatically for your trip.

Q: Are MedStar rides through HopeLink wheelchair accessible?

Yes. If you use a wheelchair, scooter, or mobility device, let HopeLink know when scheduling. MedStar’s ADA-compliant vehicles are frequently used for mobility-assisted transport.

Q: What should I do when my ride is scheduled?

You’ll receive a 30-minute pickup window. Be ready five minutes before it starts and wait in a visible location. Drivers wait only five minutes and cannot call before arrival, so timely readiness is essential.

Q: Can I bring an escort or personal care assistant (PCA)?

Yes. If you need assistance getting to or from the vehicle or appointment, you must bring an escort or PCA. Drivers cannot enter homes or provide medical help beyond basic assistance.
